Questions
Which light colour is best for reading music?
A warm white of about 2700–3000 Kelvin is calm for the eyes over long sessions and still shows the notes clearly. Most Jahn LED lamps are in this range.
What is the difference between an upright and a grand piano lamp?
An upright lamp stands on top of the piano and bends down over the music. A grand piano lamp clamps or stands on the music desk, because a grand has no flat top in front of the player.
Why LED?
LED gives even light, uses little power and stays almost cold – so the lamp does not warm the piano or your hands.
How do I avoid glare?
Point the light at the score, not at your eyes or the polished case. A lamp with an adjustable reflector or arm makes that easy.
